Rydell Honda of Grand Forks

Did you know that Crookston, Minnesota, is home to one of the country’s oldest continuously operating movie theaters? Although today the Grand Theatre is an all-digital movie theater, back when it first originated, it was an opera house that hosted famous performers, such as Mark Twain and Harry Houdini. In downtown Crookston, you can also find Windman’s Candy Shop, where people from the surrounding areas have been buying chocolate-covered potato chips and other interesting candy for a century!

At Rydell Honda of Grand Forks, we love taking a historical look back into the communities we serve. Crookston, Polk County’s seat in Minnesota, has a lot to offer fellow historical buffs and the antiquing fans in our community.

If you’re really into learning about historical items, look no further than the Polk County Museum. This unique Crookston attraction has been collecting and preserving the inspiring history of Polk County for more than 75 years. Find antique tools, records, newspapers on microfilm, and an amazing collection of women’s hats gathered into one collection throughout the years by the Polk County Historical Society in Crookston, Minnesota.

Our favorite part has to be the recreation of a typical century-old small town, including a general store, a telephone and switchboard center, a dentist’s office and doctor’s office, and a barber and beauty shop, all with well-preserved artifacts from years ago! The museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays through Sundays during the summer, and it is located along the U.S. Highway 2 on the east side of Crookston at 719 E. Robert St.

For more information about this Rydell Honda favorite, you could call 218-281-1038 or visit the Polk County Historical Society website.
