Rydell Honda of Grand Forks

There’s nothing quite like the energy at a live music venue. Sure, recorded music is great and convenient when you’re driving in your car or going for a jog, but it’s not the same as the palpable excitement in the air when attending a live event. If you’re a frequent concertgoer, then you understand. However, if you have never seen a live show, you need to experience it for yourself. Whether your favorite music genre is heavy metal, classical, or somewhere in between, there are music venues in Grand Forks hosting your favorite local and national artists.

Empire Arts Center

The Empire Arts Center is located at 415 Demers Avenue in Grand Forks.

Inside the Empire Arts Center are several spaces for live music, concerts, and other performances. The Theater is a historic theater restored into a stunning auditorium with art deco murals and a versatile stage. The Gallery is a world-class reception area for small events like private shows or pre-show receptions. Studio E is a black box theater with versatile space for smaller performances. Finally, backstage is an industrial-designed urban space and the home of concerts by “The Backstage Project.” Whether your live music preferences lean towards rock bands or orchestras, you’ll find it all on The Empire Arts Center’s calendar.

The 1919 Lounge

The 1919 Lounge is located at 415 Demers Avenue in Grand Forks.

The 1919 Lounge is also located inside the Empire Arts Center, but it truly deserves its own paragraph. Known for its unforgettable nightlife and world-class performers, this venue is a hidden gem. Set on the Empire’s historical stage, this venue has a captivating and upscale atmosphere with a smaller, more intimate setting. Tableside service provides indulgent food and libations mere feet away from the stage and performers. While you’re less likely to find rock or pop music at this venue, you will definitely find the world’s best Broadway stars, pianists, Emmy award winners, Tony nominees, and other critically acclaimed recording artists.
